Lecture Week 4 - Group critique with Stuart Tolley
LECTURE NOTES
Evaluate the success (or failure) of your self-initated project to consider its relationship to your own personal practice, interests and creative identity.
Think about what worked, what didn’t work and what you would do differently next time.
This weeks lecture was incredibly beneficial discussing our final pdfs with our peers.
Although my pdf was not as finished as I would of liked, I shared my concept of my Town Trail map with my breakout group and got crucial feedback which gave me the ability to define my target audience.
My sticking point was whether to make my trail online or a paper map. It was during this feedback session that Sally Court mentioned that she had recently been on a digital trail and it was a nightmare! Weak signal, arguing over the phone and poor pinpoints all attributed to the game going horribly wrong, so much so that they gave up in the end. Maybe simplicity is the key and I stick to a paper fold-out map with some digital features. Stuart Tolley suggested Augmented Reality and recommended I research Garage, The Mill website which showed fantastic techniques in the future of AR.
