TUTORS ADVICE
This is the second week in the concept development phase of your project. It also indicates the last four weeks of the Industry Set project brief, when we expect you to deliver your chosen concept. Now you have selected your concept, we want you to really focus on delivering the final outcome as concisely as possible. Do not leave any stone unturned. We want you to be bold, brave and experimental, but please remember to plan your remaining time wisely.

Chris Do - The Futur. What is UX Design?
Week 9, and I’m very aware the countdown clock is ticking to the impending deadline but I feel I’ve (bravely) picked a subject that I know nothing about how to create.
After sifting through various Design Week and Creative Review articles that didn’t really explain the process I was beginning to think I had made a massive mistake. Luckily, Google is my friend, and I found a great video by Chris Do on UX Design and its process.
Admittedly, this was for website design, but I was more interested in learning about the user experience and the journey which is beyond the aesthetics.
This explains the process in more detail:
Goals - They start by discussing the purpose of what they are trying to produce. Italics is how it relates to my brief
A. Trying to communicate with their customer base - My audience is 18-30 years olds, Gen Z - what would appeal to them?
B. Identify who their customers are so they can speak to them directly to solve their problems - Find a way to communicate with a way to get them, in a fun way,
C. Get more people interested in their products - to get them interested in The Science Museums Archive Collection.
Their theory was based on a different platform and products they are trying to sell to but the same principles apply.
Know your users
They discuss user-profiles and the importance of knowing who you are marketing to. I realised I hadn’t actually anaylised who I was marketing to. So I approached some of the people who had filled in my questionaire.

Lecture – Concept Development
This week we were advised to step out of our comfort zones and be experimental with our concept development. So, 3 weeks from the deadline I decided to try a new programme - Figma!
Figma provides a collaborative and feature-rich environment for graphic designers working on wireframes for app designs. Its real-time collaboration, interactive prototyping, and other features make it a valuable tool for individual designers and design teams. I’ve been sharing files before as part of a marketing team but never had to start a wireframe from scratch, so this was going to be ‘fun’.
For those who are not familiar (I had to check) with what it is used for, Figma and figJam can be particularly beneficial for setting out wireframes for app designs which is perfect for my Science Museum Collection project.
Being a cloud-based tool, it also allows multiple users to collaborate in real-time making it especially useful for teams working on app design projects feeding their input and easy collaborating and brainstorming.
I thought it best to scamp out my wireframe first to understand the details of the journey.
